California Part 1

I had work in California over the past week, and I found a few hours to get lost. My first walkabout was at Las Trampas regional park in San Ramon.

I hiked 3.5 miles, and 750' vertical feet, on the Bollinger Canyon trail and the Las Trampas Ridge trail. I took the road less traveled, viz. the more inland trails, and thus missed out on big views of the Bay, but still the country was gorgeous. Green mountains in every direction, on the first of March! I experienced the strong allure California holds out to lovers of everything out-of-doors.

The cross-dressing man on my flight into Oakland, however, gave me the other California experience, which I'm not anxious to repeat soon. He did have a really nice backpack and North Face down jacket. Also lipstick, earrings, and women's skinny jeans.

But I digress. Here's the slideshow.
